Scripture

2 Nephi 31:20

Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

See you tomorrow - My testimony

Hello Everyone!

First off this week was full of adventures. I was able to go to the capital and see all the beautiful touristic places in Argentina. We went to The Pink House, it’s like our white house but pink. Haha. A huge catholic church, an orchestra opera show that was absolutely beautiful, Madi would’ve loved it! We saw the Oblisco, el caminito and lots more touristic places. It was all perfect. We had dinner with President and Hermana Calquin. Then the next day we went to the temple. I love the temple and the peace it brings to us. I love this country and the beauty it has. Saying goodbye to Pdte and Hna. Calquin was hard because they’re like parents to me. They’ve helped me so much in the mission. I love this mission, Buenos Aires Sur. It’s the best mission in the whole world.

Now, for my heading. It's a mix of emotions, happy, sad, excited, nervous...etc. But I will be so ever grateful for the year and a half I was able to serve here in Argentina. I left my home, family, everything I knew, to follow what the Lord wanted me to do; to help rescue the people here, and to serve in place of Him. It was a huge honor and privilege, I have learned soooo much, gained a stronger testimony, and have changed as a person. The McKayla Davis who is soon to come home, isn't the same as who left Las Vegas a year and a half ago.

I know my Savior lives, I know He loves me, and knows me perfectly. I know that He was and is with me every step of the way. Throughout my mission, I've come to know Him and our Heavenly Father in a way I never thought possible. I know that this is His work. I know that He is at the head of the church, He leads and guides us. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and is the prophet who restored the true church again on the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and was translated by Joseph Smith. I know that through the power of the Book of Mormon, lives are changed. Not because it's magical, but because they are the words of Christ, and if we apply them to our lives, that is when the change occurs. I know that if we read it EVERY DAY, we will be protected from the evil outside of our homes. I know that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet today, who leads and guides us in what we need to do, under the direction of Christ. I know that I can live with my family forever, and not even death can separate us. I know this all to be true. And I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Nos Vemos && Chau!

One week left

8/28/17

Hello everyone!
Well this is the last email from Hermana Davis. The mission has flashed before my eyes and I didn’t even realize it. I guess that’s what happens when you’re serving the Lord. I’ve learned so much and have had so many great and amazing experiences. Through all the trials and tears I’ve shed it was for something good in the end. Giving my all so that Gods children can enter into his kingdom. I never knew that mission was going to be like this. I now know that I this gospel is perfect. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the way it makes me feel inside and the happiness it brings into my heart. I came on a mission so that people can understand that life isn’t what it seems when we have problems and trials; people who pass away, when we make mistakes and damage our own family, when we do stupid things, when our closest family get sick, being poor. And the worst of all for me, making mistakes that not only effect your life but others. I’ve learned that through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can be forgiven. We can feel relieved and happy again inside and out. We can learn to forgive ourselves and progress. Become a daughter or son of God who he wants us to be.
I love this beautiful Argentina country so much. I love all the people who I was able to get to know and love and serve. I know that if we do our best to be obedient to the commandments we will be blessed and received all the blessings he promised us. I love all of you guys and thank you for all your support and love. See you next week!

Cold and changes

8/21/17

I think our Heavenly father is so generous in giving us blessings. When we are just a little obedient to his commandments and we repent he gives so much. Like the hymn says, because I have been given much and to must give. Because I have been sheltered Lord each day I live. The love the Savior has for his children is so big we can’t even imagine it. In this week, a lot of things happened. My companion was really sick and we went to the hospital she has bronchitis. Lol. It’s not funny but I feel like everyone here has bronchitis because it’s so cold. Lol.
Leaonel, the investigator that we found a few weeks ago got baptized. He made a huge change in his life so fast. He dyed his hair back to its original color, took out his piercings and now is going to receive the priesthood. He such a great example for his family because they’re not that religious and him being 19 years old, it’s a miracle and a blessing to see someone so young getting close to Jesus Christ. I love the gospel and the happiness in brings into my life. I’m so grateful to be a member if this true church.
My challenge this week for you all, is try to serve someone everyday, doing something nice for someone. When we forget ourselves and help others that is when we grow. Have a great week and Smile!

Temple with Maxi

Hey Hey Hey!
This week was full of so many things! During the week we had our zone conference and it was booger freezing but we had an activity outside at then park so that was fun. To get back to the area where we were it took like 4 hours to travel, so we slept at the apartment of other sisters. lol. It was a party because we were 6 sister missionaries. Lol. We found an amazing family, they have 6 kids and are going through some trials right now so it was awesome that we could find them. And the best thing ever that happened is I was able to go to the temple with Maxi, my convert so he can receive his endowments! He was so happy and it was such a beautiful experience. Maxi will be a great missionary I know it. The week flew by so fast and I know these last few weeks will be even faster. I love you all!

Spiritual Week

8/7/17
Milagros!
This week we were with Hermana Ortiz and Hermana Moreta one of my ex companions!
I loved this week so much because it was so spiritual. We found a family! The Asmar family, their an old couple and live with their grandson which is 19 years old. The 19 year old Leonel accepted to be baptized and came to church on Sunday! Also, we found a woman named Irma! She’s so sweet and loving. Not that religious, lives alone with her parrot that talks and just is the cutest old lady. And she came to church also. I love it when people are looking for the truth and just act upon their own will and do it because they want to. And lastly, Celina, A little old lady that was super sad outside of her house. She told us that her husband committed suicide and someone killed her two younger sons. We tried to teach her but she was so sad and has been through so much that every time we spoke shed remember something from her past. All we could do is just hug her and tell her everything well be okay and that shell see her loved ones again. I love being a missionary because the people that don’t have this gospel in their lives are so lost and sad. But the thing is that life isn’t supposed to be that way. Were supposed to be filled with joy as we are suffering because were helping someone else on the way! I love the gospel and to be here in Argentina. Have a great week everyone! My companion and I are going to a place where the cows go moo and where there are pure fields of grass! Haha.
Love you!
