Scripture

2 Nephi 31:20

Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

New investigators!

Hola Familia,
This week was a little hard but in the end we are improving because we found two new investigators and two other investigators attended church! We also started a new way to receive help from the ward and strengthen the ward at the same time. We made a calendar for members to fast specific days of the week for Missionary Work and to have baptisms. I love the mission so much and I know that I’m here for a reason in Argentina, Ciudad Evita 2. Love you all!

We had our District activity this week! Which was a flour fight. Haha. So fun. We just put flour in our tights or socks and play dodgeball with them. We played it in the church, and you can imagine what a mess after. Yeah, I know but the church is now cleaner than we left it and we ended the activity with happiness and so it’s totally fine. Lol.

The stake activity in the church, our ward was Puerto Rico!

The sisters in Aldo Bonzi. They live in front of us because we actually live in Aldo Bonzi. Their area!
We taught the young women how to paint their nails and the only way to attend is bring a friend that's a non member. So fun. And the best part, our investigator showed up also!

Marita!

Feelin Girly. <3

My companion shows her love by giving me massages...with her feet. Haha.

Taking pictures at night. Were crazy, I know.

Ward members because i just love them so much.

Hermana Cuevas! She cleans our clothes for us which makes her that much more awesome. And she's gorgeous.

1/3 Complete!

1/3 complete and it’s so crazy!
This week went by so, so fast. On Tuesday we didn’t have much time to proselyte because we didn’t have a functioning toilet but now we do!

Wednesday, we had exchanges and our president wants us to contact people in a new way. So when we contact people we have to end with placing a date to teach them in their house. It’s sort of hard but I love it.
Thursday we taught our English class in the church and we actually had 4 people this time. It’s so awesome but really hard to speak in English.

Friday we taught less actives how to do family search and I seriously had so much excitement for the members because they have so many members in their family to baptize in the temple.

Saturday I completed 6 months! Haha. And Sunday we had correlation misional, and we have a new plan to strengthen the members because this ward needs a lot of help to have unity. So we’re starting off by having family home evenings in the members’ homes. This week was very hard for us and we don’t have many investigators right now, and the ones that we have dropped us, but we have faith that we will find more people to teach. I love the gospel so much and know that everything happens for a reason and in Gods time. I love you all!
Choy!

Mi companera y Yo, The first day together!

We made homemade banana bread and my companion thought I was the weirdest person ever because I wanted to lick the bowl. Haha.
The temple with Marita!
Intercambios! Hermana Medrano completed 16 months in the mission so we bought ice cream and facturas!
And I completed 6 months in the mission! Woohoo!
I love my companion so much, especially because she’s teaching me how to speak Cordobes. Jaja. It’s the weirdest accent ever. I love it.

The streets of Ciudad Evita 2!
Our amigo that’s close to our apartment. Haha.
I was actually craving Grandma Davis´s pie that she always makes for us for Christmas but banana bread will do for now.

Today we had our zone activity and cooked asado. And I did not eat cow blood this time, thank goodness.

Service Project! Woohoo Sewing. I felt like Betty.

The meeting we had with Elder Packer. And our outfits were on point, my companion and I. Haha.
This day was beautiful, close to the train tracks.

Great week but hard week

Hey Hey Hey!
This week was so great but a little hard, but great. Haha. If that makes sense. Let me just start off by saying that when we are in a place at a specific moment, we are there for a reason. Teaching a lesson in the temple with Marita, an investigator that only has interest in learning English but my companion and I felt that it’s time to change the routine and teach lessons. We asked her to be baptized in the temple after we taught the Plan of Salvation, which was such a spiritual, experience because the Holy Ghost was so strong and so powerful during the lesson. She accepted the invitation to be baptized and I just know that she will receive an answer that this is the true church. We promised her blessings and I have never felt so guided by the spirit during a lesson ever in my entire mission until this moment. Heavenly Father works miracles when we actually listen to him and speak words through the Holy Ghost. Marita is 52 years old and has two kids, and a husband. They are very Catholic, but she just wants to feel the love, peace and blessings in her life because she has problems in her family and I just know The Gospel is what will help her and is what she needs. When we were walking around the temple in the gardens, I saw two members from Claypole and we invited them to accompany us in the lesson in the temple. It was so awesome. I just loved having the connection with my area anterior.

Though Gods children are always prepared to listen to the gospel and follow the correct direction, doesn’t mean that they’re ready for baptism right now, everything is in the Lords time. Maria said that she doesn’t want to listen to us anymore and doesn’t want to have the lessons. I don’t know why, were going to visit her this week to find out exactly what happened. With this experience, I just felt so much love for Maria and just want her to feel the love I feel in the gospel. All we can do right now though, is pray that her heart will be softened and that we’ll be able to find out what her need is.

Las Hermanas Son Bendecidas!
We have 4 members that want to wash our clothes for us. It’s great because we don’t ever have laundry to do and don’t have to wash our clothes by hand or my soap. Haha. The members in this ward are so awesome.
One of the recent converts, Candela, she is 13 years old and wants to leave and walk around and visit people with us. She has so much animo and just loves the gospel. So she accompanied us on Saturday and practically was the missionary talking to everyone. I love it because she now wants to serve a mission because of us and helping her experience a little part of missionary work.
Raining all day yesterday!

When it’s raining it’s so hard to talk to people and literally no one opens their doors but members do! Haha. So we clapped in front of a family’s house to take cover and they let us in. And to make us even happier, they made waffles for us. Woohoo! Haha. It’s the little things in the mission that makes missionaries so happy.
I’m going to give you guys a challenge this week. Try to smile more, smile when you’re angry, smile when someone cuts in front of you when you’re driving. I know that if you do this you will feel the spirit so much more in your life. Entonces, Lo Hara? Will you do it?

I love you guys and have a good week!

Service Projects

Ciudad Evita 2!
This week was so busy. During the week we did so many service projects and I just love it. We sewed...and so I finally know how and have mastered it, I feel like Betty. (: And we helped the ward get ready for the activity on Friday. The activity we attended was all of the wards in the stake were assigned a country to present and to make food from that country. It was so awesome. And even more awesome because we have 3 investigators attend. This ward is so great and just support and love the missionaries so much. My second day and all the rest of the days of the week we had members accompany with our appointments.

It was recent converts birthday and so because I never ate Asado here she cooked asado. Asado is like a big cook off with a ton of different kinds of meat. But she cooked these black sausage things, called morcillas. And the translation is English is cow blood. In the moment I didn’t know what it was. But after I was disgusted. It has the most interesting texture and is extremely salty. Haha.

On Friday we also had a motivational speaker conference with the son of Elder Packer, one of the twelve apostles. It was so great because all we spoke about was having the spirit with us always and the importance of our investigators feel this peace and comfort. In the afternoon, we determined to find a new investigator to teach with the spirit and baptize a convert. And so we found Maria, she is 22 years old and lives in front of members! How great right? The connection and the support she has. She is very quiet but wants to learn more about Heavenly Father and why we are so happy. And best of all she accepted the invitation to be baptized. I know that when we teach with the spirit and have the Holy Ghost with us all always we are literally a light to people who don’t have this constant companionship. My mission president said that when we have a smile always people will recognize your light and happiness and will literally want to be with you a lot because they feel this happiness and influence in their lives. I know that when we are obedient and close to our Heavenly Father we can feel this peace and love of him. We only have to want it and humble ourselves to have this desire and beautiful gift.

I love this area and I love my companion so much.
Love you, Everyone!
Love,

Hermana Davis
