Hello Everyone!
First off this week was
full of adventures. I was able to go to the capital and see all the beautiful
touristic places in Argentina. We went to The Pink House, it’s like our white
house but pink. Haha. A huge catholic church, an orchestra opera show that was
absolutely beautiful, Madi would’ve loved it! We saw the Oblisco, el caminito
and lots more touristic places. It was all perfect. We had dinner with
President and Hermana Calquin. Then the next day we went to the temple. I love
the temple and the peace it brings to us. I love this country and the beauty it
has. Saying goodbye to Pdte and Hna. Calquin was hard because they’re like
parents to me. They’ve helped me so much in the mission. I love this mission,
Buenos Aires Sur. It’s the best mission in the whole world.
Now, for my heading.
It's a mix of emotions, happy, sad, excited, nervous...etc. But I will be so
ever grateful for the year and a half I was able to serve here in Argentina. I
left my home, family, everything I knew, to follow what the Lord wanted me to
do; to help rescue the people here, and to serve in place of Him. It was a huge
honor and privilege, I have learned soooo much, gained a stronger testimony,
and have changed as a person. The McKayla Davis who is soon to come home, isn't
the same as who left Las Vegas a year and a half ago.
I know my Savior lives,
I know He loves me, and knows me perfectly. I know that He was and is with me
every step of the way. Throughout my mission, I've come to know Him and our
Heavenly Father in a way I never thought possible. I know that this is His
work. I know that He is at the head of the church, He leads and guides us. I
know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and is the prophet who restored the
true church again on the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and was
translated by Joseph Smith. I know that through the power of the Book of
Mormon, lives are changed. Not because it's magical, but because they are the
words of Christ, and if we apply them to our lives, that is when the change occurs.
I know that if we read it EVERY DAY, we will be protected from the evil outside
of our homes. I know that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints is the true church on the earth today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is
the living prophet today, who leads and guides us in what we need to do, under
the direction of Christ. I know that I can live with my family forever, and not
even death can separate us. I know this all to be true. And I say these things,
in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
